Many changes

Well we have had many changes in the last few months. We have remodeled our kitchen. All new cabinets, flooring and new countertops and sink. Also a new dishwasher. It was quite a job but it is finished! Having finished that we decided to remodel our office which had turned into a storeroom. Now a new lighter green color, new hardwood flooring and all new trim and new office furniture. Debbie has her desk for sewing and crafts and I have a new desk and cabinets for my office. It looks great and is so functional now. Our grandson Ethan is now starting to crawl. Wow, how fast they grow!

Richard and Fleur visit us from Italy

Our son Richard and his lovely new wife Fleur came to visit us for two weeks. It was great having them here. Fleur couldn't believe that she was here and that our country was so big. We spent a lot of time at home sitting in the sun and taking dips in the hot tub. We rented a boat for an evening trip around the Puget Sound and went to Victoria, Canada for two days. We had so much fun that is was very hard for us to see them leave. The house seems empty now. Well next year we will go see them again in Italy.

Ethan is growing, and what a smile!

Well Ethan is quite the little boy now. We can't believe how much he is growing! The best part is the smiles that he gives us. Usually he likes to keep his hand in the way but now and then you get a great smile from him. He is such a great first grandson.

Here is our little Ethan. We are such proud grandparents. He is getting much bigger now than when this picture was taken. He is sleeping well now too. Michael and Serena are really loving being parents and she is so good with Ethan.

I am going to attach a picture of our new grandson Ethan Michael Gerke. You have to admit he is much better looking than any other grandchild in the entire world. I don't think I am bragging but it must be fact. Just look at him. All others pale in comparison.

The latest news

Hello and welcome to our blog. We are kind of new at this so I hope that we do it justice. We have had many changes in the last few years. Our son Richard (Ricky) moved to Padova Italy and fell in love with Fleur Brown. They were married last summer. Richard is working for the Dept. of Defence in Vicenza Italy. He is a youth co-ordinator on the Army base there. He is also interning with Armed Forces Radio and TV. He has written some scripts for comericals and is also doing so voice and film work for them too. Please pray that he gets a full time job there. Being newlyweds they could use the income.

Our son Michael married Serena Otto 2 years ago and they just had their first child. His name is Ethan Michael Gerke. He weighed 9 lbs 11 oz and was 20 " long. Since Serena is only 4' 11" tall he was quite a big boy. He had to be taken by Ceaserian section. She was pretty sore after the surgery but things are going better now. If they could just get some sleep it would be even better.
